Dr. Laurence Taylor

Chemist
I am extremely excited to be part of the dynamic team at C4C and applying my knowledge of chemistry and catalysis to the challenging problem of decarbonising the concrete industry. Being able to make a real difference in the fight against climate change is deeply rewarding.

Laurence worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nottingham from 2017 to 2021, and an inorganic chemistry lecturer (also at University of Nottingham) from 2021 until joining C4C in 2024. His postdoctoral research focused on the use of low-coordinate transition and s-block metals for catalysis and small molecule activation, working with incredibly air and moisture sensitive species. Prior to that, he completed his PhD studying air-sensitive p-block (phosphorus and arsenic) species at the University of St Andrews under Dr Petr Kilian and completed his MSci in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He has co-authored >25 publications.
