CCUS Innovation 2.0 Grant Award
Concrete4Change is proud to announce that it has been awarded a grant to support the development of its technology by the Department of Energy & Net Zero (DESNZ) under the CCUS Innovation 2.0 programme. The CCUS Innovation 2.0 programme is providing £20 million in grant funding to projects developing novel CCUS technologies and processes that reduce the cost of deployment.
This funding falls under the umbrella of the £1 billion Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP) from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Concrete4Change will utilise the grant funding to de-risk and scale-up its carrier technology, providing a cost-effective, practical and innovative approach to the utilisation of CO2 in fresh concrete via mineralisation.
Concrete production is responsible for 8% of global CO2 emissions, and if nothing is done, it will be 40% of the global allowance by 2050.However, it has the potential to become the safest and most scalable form of CO2 sink in the world and with the strategic support of the UK government, the team at Concrete4Change one of world’s largest emission problems into an emission solution.
